Get Involved!

St. Stephen’s is more than a community that worships together; it is actively involved in the pastoral care and connection of its members to one another and the broader Wimberley Valley community.

We invite you to get involved and offer many opportunities to serve and connect:

  • Ministry Areas include groups that support Worship, Outreach to the Community, Pastoral Care, Lifelong Learning, Mind/body wellness, and Social activities.

  • Worship opportunities include Rite II Eucharist services at both 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM.  The 8:00 service is more intimate, and in our Chapel; the 10:30 is the larger service in the main church. If you are interested in serving in one of the Liturgical Ministries roles, you may join at anytime, and training will be provided.

  • Sunday School meets during the school year, and new participants and teachers are welcome.  The Nursery is also open every Sunday during both worship services.

  • Our Faith Life is important to us, as we grow individually and as a community. Join one of our Bible Study groups, participate in our Lifelong Learning Sessions, or pick up a copy of Forward Day-by-Day (an Episcopal daily meditations guide) to enhance your faith journey.

Our Staff and Vestry are open to your questions and comments and want you to know how welcome you are at our church, whether it is your first time with us or you are a long-time member looking for a place to connect. Let us know how we can help you!

A Note from Our Newcomer Minister

My family—husband Kurt and our two adult children—relocated to this area in 1994 from Abilene. I had previously worked for a Methodist church in Abilene, so when I learned that there was an opening at the Episcopal Church in Wimberley, I felt that God led me to St. Stephen’s.

Fast forward 28 years, and I have retired from my duties as Parish Administrator as of June 1. My new role as the Newcomer Minister will include being at both services on Sunday and introducing you to folks in the St. Stephen’s community. I reach out to each family to hopefully set up a time for a tour of the campus or to have a cup of coffee and get to know one another.

I am looking forward to meeting you and introducing you to the wonderful community of St. Stephen’s Church and School. Please email me if you have any questions or need help with anything. All are welcome, and I look forward to connecting with you!

Newcomer Minister
