Mid-Week Eucharist Service
May 7th, 10:30 AM in the Chapel
Between Labor Day and Memorial Day, we gather in the Chapel at 10:30 am on the first Wednesday of each month for a Mid-Week Holy Eucharist Service with healing prayers. The Rite II service contains the usual readings, a shared sermon, and communion, as well as the laying on of hands and anointing for those in need of healing. This service is held on the First Wednesday of each month.
The Episcopal Church's understanding is that through the laying on of hands and the administering of the sacrament of unction (anointing of oil), God's healing grace is bestowed upon the sick and needy. God's healing and grace is available for all conditions of humanity. The healing signifies a restoration to wholeness for individuals seeking the sacrament of unction. And through the celebration of God's mysteries, we become participants in the divine, whether a cure is the ultimate outcome or not.
